Because the price of the hardware covers the cost of the hardware. We're not selling a camera below cost to acquire a subscriber — which is the model that forces the paywall in the first place.
What this means over time
A competing camera at $99 with a $8/month plan costs you $195 in the first year and $96 every year after. Our $149 feeder costs you $149, once.
Over five years that's the difference between $149 and $579.
The commitment
Species identification and unlimited viewing are included for the life of the product on every Perchmont camera sold. This is not an introductory offer and it does not expire.
Separately, every product carries a one-year warranty against defects. If something fails in that time, we replace it.
